Terms of Service

You must be at least 18 years old to create a registration account or enter into these Terms. Registrations for players under 18 must be completed by a parent or legal guardian. By using the Services you represent that the information you provide is true, accurate, and complete, and that you are authorized to provide it.

• You are responsible for the accuracy of all registration information (including player age, birth year, team, and eligibility details).

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any account credentials and for all activity under your account.

• We may verify eligibility and may refuse, cancel, or reassign a registration if information is inaccurate, incomplete, or does not meet tournament eligibility rules.

• Entry into a tournament is not confirmed until we accept the registration and, where applicable, payment is received.

Tournament and registration fees are as stated at the time of registration. Fees are in Canadian dollars unless stated otherwise and may be subject to applicable taxes.

Payment, where applicable, is processed through a third-party payment provider; by paying, you also agree to that provider’s terms.

Refund / cancellation policy: [Pathway Hockey to insert — e.g. deadlines, non-refundable deposits, what happens if a team withdraws, and how refunds are handled if Pathway Hockey cancels an event].

We may change fees for future events at any time. Fees already paid for a confirmed registration will not change except as described in your registration.

By using the Services and participating in our events, you agree that you, your player, and your guests will: follow these Terms and the rules, policies, and codes of conduct of Pathway Hockey, the host arena/facility, and any governing or sanctioning hockey body; follow the instructions of coaches, officials, and event staff; treat players, officials, staff, volunteers, and spectators with respect; and refrain from harassment, abuse, threats, violence, discrimination, cheating, and unsafe conduct.

We may remove, suspend, or ban any participant, team, parent, guardian, or spectator from an event or the Services for breach of these Terms or applicable rules, without refund, and may report serious conduct to the appropriate authorities or governing bodies.

Participation in our events is also governed by our Waiver, Release of Liability & Assumption of Risk; our Release for Use of Image; and our Privacy Policy.

These documents are incorporated into and form part of these Terms. By registering or participating, you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to them. If there is a conflict between these Terms and the Waiver on the subject of liability and assumption of risk, the Waiver governs.

Ice hockey involves significant inherent risks of serious injury. Full details and the applicable releases and indemnities are set out in the Waiver. Nothing in these Terms limits or replaces the Waiver.

The Services and their content — including the Pathway Hockey name, logos, text, graphics, schedules, brackets, and software — are owned by Pathway Hockey or its licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Services for their intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, scrape, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from the Services without our written permission.

If you submit content (for example player bios, photos, or messages), you confirm you have the right to submit it, and you grant Pathway Hockey a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use it to operate and promote the Services and events, consistent with our Image Release and Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the content you submit and must not submit anything unlawful, infringing, or offensive.

You agree not to: use the Services for any unlawful purpose; interfere with or disrupt the Services or their security; attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system or account; upload malicious code; or use automated means to access or collect data from the Services without our permission.

The Services may rely on or link to third-party platforms (for example payment processors, arenas, social media, and hosting providers). We are not responsible for third-party services or content, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.

We provide the Services on an “as available” basis and may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of them, and may reschedule, relocate, or cancel events (for example due to weather, facility issues, insufficient entries, or events beyond our control). Where an event is cancelled by us, any refund will be handled under the policy in the Fees, payments, and refunds section.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services and events are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that information (including schedules, scores, and standings) will always be accurate or up to date.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pathway Hockey and its owners, directors, officers, employees, coaches, volunteers, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising out of or relating to your use of the Services or participation in events. Liability arising from participation in events, including personal injury, is addressed by, and subject to, the Waiver. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pathway Hockey and its owners, directors, officers, employees, coaches, volunteers, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Services, or your (or your player’s or guests’) conduct at our events. This is in addition to any indemnity contained in the Waiver.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the laws of Canada applicable in Alberta. You agree that the courts of Alberta have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services, and you submit to the jurisdiction of those courts.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date shows when they were last revised, and material changes will be posted on our website. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.

• Severability: if any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.

• No waiver: our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it.

• Entire agreement: these Terms, together with the Waiver, Image Release, and Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Pathway Hockey regarding the Services and supersede any prior understandings.

• Assignment: you may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a business transaction.
